More about me

My full-time freelance career started in 2004 and since then I have worked for a wide range of advertising and design agencies, as well as for direct clients. Previous to that, I was a copywriter and creative director in a number of London agencies. Here is a brief resumé.

1996 – 2004

Senior King – Head of Copy and then Creative Director.

This medium-sized agency specialised in travel and tourism advertising with an admixture of B2B and automotive accounts (not to mention Coop Funeralcare). I joined as Head of Copy with responsibility for improving the standard of written work from press ads to brochures. Later, as Joint Creative Director, I was involved with client accounts at a more strategic level whilst continuing to have a hands-on creative role.

1993 – 1996

AD it Communications – Creative Director.

I was a partner in this agency set up to service the Lotus Software UK account and specialising in the IT sector.

1991 – 1993

FCB – Senior Copywriter.

I joined FCB to work on the Lotus Software account and worked across technology and other accounts.

1990 – 1991

Oxygen (TBWA/HKR) – Senior Copywriter.

Worked as the writing partner with the agency’s Creative Director, in particular on the successful pitch for Nissan.

1988 – 1989

WCRS/dma – Copywriter.

At the time, this was the UK’s fastest –growing DM agency and it was here I learned about copywriting from the legendary Don White.

1987 -1988

Cerca (Ted Bates) – Copywriter.

My first taste of copywriting with the legendary Don White.
